We like art that has a point of view. Your point of view. No rules. Just you. That's how you'll find us here.

At Sol, we don't believe there is one right way to be an artist, and we don't believe a gallery roster needs to look like a collection of copies or a line up of status and hierarchy. We are interested in artists with their own voice, their own story, and work that feels like them.

We welcome emerging and established artists of all kinds to introduce themselves to us.

Our current roster is full, but we are always interested in discovering what's happening out there. We keep every submission on file and review submissions when a space becomes available or when we see an opportunity for an artist whose work feels like a natural fit for Sol.

BEFORE YOU SEND YOUR WORK

Spend a little time wandering around Sol.

Drop by for a visit. Look at our artists. Look at the work. Get a feel for what we are drawn to and how the pieces live together.

Sol is intentionally curated. We want our artist family to feel collaborative, not competitive—different voices, different approaches, different ways of seeing. We try not to overlap styles too closely because we believe that gives every artist within the Sol family more room to shine!

We do focus on supporting artists in our home community first and foremost.

But if you look around and think, “My work would bring something different to this,” we would love to see it.

We sell art primarily into homes and spaces along the coast of Guanacaste, Costa Rica, so if your work has a natural connection to Costa Rica, the ocean, tropical living, nature, or the coastal lifestyle, tell us about that too.

But most importantly: show us your voice.

Approximately 10 images of your current work—specifically the work you are excited about, want to continue creating, and would genuinely like to exhibit.

02 — YOUR STORY
Tell us a little about your creative history. How did you get here? What have you been exploring? What makes you want to keep making?

03 — YOUR DIRECTION
Tell us about where you are going. What are your goals, dreams, ideas, or the work you hope to pursue next?

04 — YOUR ART
Tell us anything you think we should understand about the work. Materials, process, inspiration, ideas, or simply what you love about making it.

05 — WHERE YOU LIVE
Tell us where you currently live and regularly reside. If you have a connection to Costa Rica or the coast, we'd love to know about it.

06 — A LITTLE ADD ON
Include your artist CV or bio and your best contact information.

A NOTE ABOUT THE WORK

We are always looking for work that feels intentional, distinctive and true to the artist who made it.

If you're a painter, we are particularly interested in large-format work. Sol is a large-format gallery, and our strongest opportunities tend to be with pieces measuring approximately 90cm / 36 in or larger.

That said, we're not interested in creating a checklist of rules...

We're interested in the work.

If you create sculpture, metal, glass, wood, textile, mixed media, table books, or something we haven't thought of yet—we want to see what you're doing.

AND THEN... WE WAIT.

Our roster is currently full, and we receive a lot of submissions. 

We keep every submission on file and revisit them as opportunities become available. I know waiting is the worst but because of the volume we receive, we aren't able to respond personally to every artist. 

If you send your work, trust that we've received it. 

And please don't take a quiet inbox as a quiet opinion. Sometimes it's simply about timing, space, curation, or finding the right moment.

Patience is appreciated.

Sol is still new and growing each day.

Our owner Alex, knows this vunerability firsthand being an artist herself... 

There is something incredibly brave about making something that came from inside you—and then handing it to someone else to look at.
