Voces de Mujer was not a group show that happened to feature women. It was an intentional gathering — a creative takeover of the entire gallery by 20 female artists from Costa Rica and the international community that calls this coast home.
The opening on March 21 brought the Guanacaste community into a space transformed. Every wall, every corner, every sight line was shaped by the hand of a woman artist. Paintings, photography, mixed media — work made with different materials but a shared quality of presence. The kind of work that makes a room feel inhabited rather than decorated.
The exhibition ran through April 18. In the weeks that followed the opening, 14 works (and counting) found their homes. But the night itself was something that numbers don't fully capture.

It's a light in the dark, as always. When women come together to share where they create and how they inspire each other and themselves, it has ripple — exponential effects. It's so beautifully exhibited and so full of love. I'm really grateful that this kind of event happens in this community.

OUR CO-HOST
Supporting the women of Guanacaste
Voces de Mujer was a celebration. It was also a reminder of why that celebration matters.
Sol Gallery is proud to partner with CEPIA — a Costa Rican nationally accredited nonprofit that since 2005 has been building educational, cultural, health, and social opportunities for underprivileged communities along the Guanacaste coast.
Their Vida Mujer project works directly with women across the region, providing access to reproductive health services and education that many have never had before. For $80, CEPIA can give a woman 10 years of birth control and a pap smear — often the only gynecological care she will receive in her lifetime.
If this evening moved you, consider continuing that energy.
This year, CEPIA's Vida Mujer program is working toward supporting 1500 women across Guanacaste. Every contribution goes directly to that goal.
